Default 8320 T-mobile Curve? - 09-25-2007, 07:27 AM

I read that this will not work on the 8800's, but will it work on the 8320? I really liked it on my 8100.

John is correct. ONLY on the Pearl. Although I love my new 8320, I do miss the blue color I had my Pearl set to...it would go nice with the O2 theme.

How do you turn off the white/keypad lights? It makes the trackball too bright. It only gets brighter when the Colorpearl app is enabled.

[EDIT]
Followed the advice here and it worked great. But theres not a way to disable the white LED in any of the options menus?

I put a very tiny piece of black electrical tape over the white led underneath the trackball. Works quite well. It does require disassembly of the trackball, however.
[Edit Edit]
The colors are nice and vivid now, but if I choose white, its got a funky color tone to it, and when disabling Color pearl the trackball no longer lights up. Why couldnt they just use one LED for everything :P

Ahh well, Id rather have a nice colortone then a good white. And its only a piece of tape, not like its irreversible

Nope. There's no way to disable the white led software-wise. I've had the small piece of tape in mine and my wifes for months. The only time I ever notice is after a software upgrade and the colorpearl program is reset to defaults. No trackball light until I go in and turn it back on. I'm going to miss my blue trackball after my switch to the 8320.

Welcome to the forums,
Please don't type in all caps as it sounds like you're SHOUTING.

You're sure the colorpearl program isn't already in the list of applications? If not, you likely need to install the OS package to your computer along with Desktop Manager. Look in Options >About and find the version number starting with 4.2.x.xxx. Then download that same version from and install it to your computer. Then try again. Here is a link to all the provider's OS's.

Once downloaded you go into Options >ColorPearl. Enable it and choose your color. That's it.

Metsfan, I just found this site a hour ago and registered and found this thread and downloaded the color application . This pearl is amazing as are you for creating these applications. I am new to Blackberry and found this site and am trying to learn about making this phone useful in my life. You are an asset to this site and just wanted to say thanks.

Joe (Phils fan , sorry !! )

P.S. the past couple of weeks must of been horible for you, what a colapse.
