I just installed it last night and it works great (I have mine set to blue), just one small problem though. When I go to lock the keyboard, right after the screen goes black, the trackball turns a neon blue, opposite from the light blue it is usually at. Is there anyway to permanently make the color darker ?

Pizzalover,
Welcome to the forums. If you browse through this thread you'll find where many people, myself included, used black tape to cover the white LED under the trackball. The white LED washes out the colored LED's.

There is an OTA link (for use with your BB's browser.) And there is a desktop manager version you should be able to download. It's a .zip format.

Yeahh, i've loaded both if them. I can't open one because it says the file format isnt found or something.
When I load these, and go into my DM to add an app. it either can't find the file, or it's not the proper format to be put onto my phone
ahhh.
Do i need a certain program to open them?

Your profile says you have an 8100 but also says you're on Telus. Do you really have an 8130? The colorpearl app won't work on an 8130.

Go to Options >About. It will tell you there. I'm certain you have an 8130. ColorPearl is not an option for you. Sorry.

A very popular and cool app! Any chance of recoding it to work with the 4.3, if you had access to the OS? I really miss it :P.

Doubtful....I PM'd the creator of this software with that same question. Never got a reply back. It's likely not worth his time as the 8100 is the only device it will work on.

Does that really make a big difference in the color or brightness. I only ask because mine seems to be all right as far as colors & brightness goes. Or is it just a personal like/dislike?

Personally, I liked it much better with the white led covered up. The colors were much more vivid. When the white comes on it washes out the colors. Maybe just me, though.

Ok, just wondering. I've been watching this thread and all the responses to it. But like I said, maybe it's just a personal thing because I think the colors & brightness are just fine on mine. Actually, just the fact that I can get different colors out of it is great.

i installed the color trackball app, and set it to blue. sometimes it is blue, and sometimes it is white. anyone know a fix for this? when i click on something ie. options, it goes to white.. then if i wait a little bit it changes back to blue.. is there another option i have to change in the blackberry to get it to stay blue all the time?

This app is fabulous.

The notification LED in the upper right can change colors too! You can set a custom notification in JIVETalk to a different color.

Is there another program that can do the same for the notification LED? Thanks!

Yes. Try an app called BBAlerts. Just do a search of the forums for it.

Question HEX Codes that work? - 04-01-2008, 07:02 PM

Great APP! Love free things for my blackberry(I still pay for some apps that I absolutely can't live without).

Anyone had any luck with custom hex codes? Been trying to see some that worked. Only a few though.

I know there's already a program to change the trackball color, but it had no OTA install, so I never got around to installing it, and also wanted something I had more control over.

It's pretty simple right now, all it has is enable/disable and color selection. You can set these in Options->ColorPearl.

You can download it here.

I plan to have more options at some point, but need suggestions on what they should be.

Edit: Version 0.2 is out, same download location!

Colors: White, Red, Green, Blue, Cyan, Yellow, Pink, Custom (Hex RRGGBB), Random!

This App has been nothing but good to me since yesterday. My trackball went back to its regular color on its own, I didn't think much of it and put it back to my custom color. Today, the same thing happened and once again I put it back to my color. And now my friend just called me and I noticed its whenever I get out of a RECEIVED phone call.

This is weird.
Anyone else have this happen?

Can this be what you really wanted, baby?
