this is an amazing app. I just hope nothing ever gets released in future OS updates (like making the camera able to capture video....) that would make me need to upgrade and lose this app!

ok my computer is being kind of stupid it wont let me download the file i download it and then it dosent come up so i was wondering can some one help me???????plz and also is there a way to cope a code into the blackberry????and plzz send it to me as a messege

My 8110 has that nice white LED it uses for camera "flash" - does anybody know about a utility that can let me use that as a flashlight?

Hi I am new to the whole bb thing.
I downloaded colorpearl to my pc and unzipped the file. I imported it to the desktop application loader. go through the whole setup and then it gives me this message.
"Warnings were encountered during the loading process:

The following modules could not be loaded because their digital signatures were invalid.

ColorPearl.cod"
Which is dumb because i was downloading the .alx file.
Then when i try to use it on my phone i get this error message.
"uncaught exception: java.lang.illegalArgumentException"
What do i need to do or download to fix this. Plz help And yes it is and 8100 with software v 4.2

software version 4.5.0.10 killed it for me, i wonder if .37 will make it work again?

I just installed it and works great!

However, in mine it doesn show on the applications menu. Instead it is shown under Options, but I actually like it there...that was I dont have too many icons on my applications screen.

for those of u having the problem with it staying red and only showing up in the options menu try using xcolorevent i think by xberry soft it's free


it allows you to set it for a diff color when receiving a call or email also

Yes, it works. It doesn't work on OS 4.5 and it ONLY works on the 8100.

I wouldn't hold your breath. I doubt anyone is going to update the app since 8100's are beginning to be an outdated device with the 8110's and 8120's being on the market now.

hi - i'm new to this, so i hope i'm not frustrating

i installed the app perfectly. the trackball is a nice light pink. i understand to go to options>advanced, but i don't understand where to change the color of the trackball [in other words, the option that allows you to change the color seems to be lost, or i can't find it at all]

this app works great on my phone until my phone rings and then the color in the trackball goes dead. is this happening to anyone else?

Hit the green phone button. Hit the menu key and select Options >General options. At the bottom should be a line that says fingtone lighting. Set it to none or never (can't remember the exact option). The ringtone lighting conflicts with colorPearl

Meh, I really hope some one updates this for 4.5os :/

Since the 8100 is the ONLY device with colored led's under the trackball, I doubt anyone is going to bother with it. We haven't heard from the OP/developer in ages.

Hopefully the OP only has the 8100. :P
Maybe that'd push him to update it.

I wouldn't hold your breath. Nothing is impossible but I doubt we'll see an update. I'd like to see it too, as I have 3 Pearls.

Well when you go to Options > in the list of programs you should see ColorPearl. Go into that and there you can activate it. And under that is the color selection. Just click on it with the trackball and a list pops up showing you all the colors. Then just save it and your good to go.
