Default Color Pearl - 05-31-2007, 01:30 AM

To try out the custom hex colors you must set the color option to: Custom, then enter the hex value you want to try. For a nice purple try 0000CC

Nice app metsfan!

Yes, that color code is a nice blue'ish purple. I used to use that on my websites all the time. It's a very sexi color!

Good Question. Somebody who has a Curve....look under >Phone >Options >General Options and see if there is an option for "Ringtone Lighting." If there is then the app will probably work. If not, then it won't.

Edit: I tried it on the Simulator (I don't have an 8300) and it appears that the Curve has the option for Ringtone Lighting, meaning it has the colored LED's, but the ColorPearl app is locked to the 8100. Probably because it caused the 8800 to lock up. Maybe Metsfan can update it to let it work on the 8300.

I have a version that will run (instead of not allowing it) on the 8300/Curve. I don't know what it will actually do, and may send it into a reset loop like the 8800. If anyone is brave enough to try it, send me a PM.

What OS version on your 8300? The simulator I downloaded had the option for ringtone lighting.

Are you looking in the Phone app? Go to the phone page. Then click menu and select Options. Then select General Options. It should be at the bottom.

On the 8300, I have...

Auto Answer Calls:
Auto End Calls:
Confirm Delete:
Restrict My Identity:
Phone List View:
Dial From Home Screen:
Show "My Number":
Default Call Volume:

On my pearl this is where the "Ringtone Lighting:" would be...but not on the 8300

Vodafone 4.2.2.75 Simulator has the option....Strange.

So does the O2 4.2.2.67 Simulator version.

Possible but doubtful. Could be a simulator/device difference. I've got no explanation.

Default Program for Pearl - 06-03-2007, 12:26 PM

This program for the Pearl lets the colors cycle through. Its pretty neat, my friend with T-Mobile has it on his Pearl. http://www.geekandproud.net/blackber...colorpearl.jad Go to that site from your Pearl and download the app.

Does anyone know if unlocking the Curve will allow users to change the trackball color? or is it really a matter of the Curve not coming equipped with the hardware to do so?

By the way, this Blackberry is so amazing, I haven't put it down yet.

Uh....you need to read the first post of this thread, my friend. This thread is all about the program you just posted about.

Also, it doesn't appear that it will work on the Curve.

I just installed this app on my pearl and when I set the color to white, it is no longer pure white. I seem to see that it is no loger pure white but has a slight pinkish hue on the sides. Is this normal? Am I imagining things?

I absolutely love this app. My fave is to set it to random so I am surprised each time I use the phone. Thanks for the app!

you have to delete whats currently in there... i think the default is 000000, just erase those six digits and replace them with whatever numbers to create the color you are looking for

when i have mine set to white it has some coloring to it as well... you can see all three lights are on at the same time (RGB). if you want it pure white, i'd just suggest turning the application off to return to the standard light for it.

In ColorPearl if you set the color to white then it lights all the led's. If you disable the ColorPearl app it will turn off the colored led's and leave the origninal white.

gfx is too quick for me!

I agree that white looks a little off.

Doesn't matter to me as mine is set to a nice shade of blue.

Awesome app, thanks.
