I have the same problem. Whenever I get a call it turns back to white and I have to reset the settings.
Anyone else have this issue?

Under Phone options, turn off Ringtone lighting. It interferes with the the trackball app (or the trackball app interferes with the ring-trackball lighting )

The only problem I'm having with my trackball light is that sometimes it's a solid color and sometimes the white will show over the other color. Anyway to get rid of that white to overcome the other colors?

I believe it's up in the thread somewhere....The only way to do that is to remove the trackball and place a very small piece of black tape over the white LED. That's what I did....works great. (disclaimer: Not for those who are not good at disassembling and reassembling.)

I'm good at disassembling and reassembling but not to sure if I want to take it apart. Being kinda lazy if that makes sense. LOL.

Any other cool apps that dont drain the s*** out of the battery? Trying to make my work phone different!

Can I download this with a Mac or do I have to use a PC?
I'm new to this forum stuff and also the blackberry...
Is the blackberry very MAC compatible or should I just use a PC?
Thanks!

I installed ColorPearl a few days ago. I have not noticed any extra battery drainage that people are talking about. Can anyone confirm extra battery drainage?

Yes it's going to use more of the battery. Duh, more lights on = more power usage. If you only light one color (say blue), then you won't notice much of a change. If you light all of the colors (to display white) then you will notice a faster drain. Overall it's not really that much.

Can you download it directly to the BB? That's the easiest way. If downloading to a PC just unzip and put the two files in a folder somewhere you wont delete. Then use Desktop manager/Application Loader to "add" and browse to the .alx file to install.

There are two methods in the first post. One is an OTA (over the air) meaning you download it via the BB Browser. Those are .jad/.jar files. The other method is using the desktop manager. You download a zip file (usually) that contains an .alx and a .cod file. Save the files to a folder somewhere that you won't delete. Use Desktop Manager and the Application Loader and use the "add" feature. Browse to the .alx file and then select it. Then fmake sure the box is checked to install the app. Finish the installation.

Default BES Server - 07-10-2007, 03:37 PM

Hi John,

Thanks for the reply. Intersesting url http://www.blackberryforums.com/rim-...ve-policy.html.

Unfortunately I am using the BES server of my current company. I don't want to risk my job over a blue ball.

I did get a replacement phone, because my original was busted. Only worked on speaker phone and kept cutting out even on speaker phone.

Before I connected my new device to the BES Server, I installed many programs like BBToday, BBLight, all the good stuff including the ColorPearl and they were all working

Then I tried to set it up so my email would show up on the new device and that worked, but it removed the ColorPearl program.

The policy must recognize the name ColorPearl or some attribute. Is there a way to install the app by changing some simple thing? I already tried renaming the file and changing ColorPearl to cp everywhere in the .alx file. I'm sure it's decoding the .cod file and still picking up the name somewhere in there. I also tried installing it through the .jad source and that didn't work either. There's got to be a way around this without getting into too much trouble. It just changes a color. what's the harm in that?

Thanks in advance,
-pp

when i try to install it on my phone in the applications loader i get a message that says:

No additional applications designed for your device were found.

I had another pearl that it worked fine on, but it won't on this one, what do i need to do?

why dont you just talk to your network admin and see if its ok? its not like its something thats going to affect the BES or systems or anything its cosmetic... doesnt hurt to ask...

Welcome to the board.

Goto Options > Color Pearl > Enable > Change Colors.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think I'm right.
