Funny isn't it? calling people stupid for not knowing if they sell such device, yet you should know when to use they're/there/their, what does it say about you?

I like your avatar. Where did you get it?

Anyway, back to the subject...

Most places don't sell those. That's why Best Buy don't know what you are talking about.

It's called Bluetooth GPS. Or at least that's the keywords I used when I was searching for one online.

Most likely, you will only be able to get it online or on Ebay. That's where I got mine. (I don't have it anymore now.)

I have been using a Holux GPSslim 236 that I bought on Ebay. It has been working flawlessly with blackberry maps and with MapQuest Navigator. Here is a link to one like it

eBay: HOLUX 236 GPS USB BlUETOOTH RECEIVER f4 LAPTOP PDA IPAQ (item 180108425639 end time Apr-19-07 09:23:44 PDT)

so apparently best buy doesn't carry those.

when online shopping for one, do the number of channels really matter that much? whats the minimum i can get away with and not encounter problems?

Do you need the data plan to access the mapquest? or is the map installed on the phone?

I believe there is a fee or monthly subscription for MapQuest Navigator. For MapQuest Mobile I do not believe the BB is compatable. MapQuest Navigator is only available for Sprint and Nextel. MapQuest for Mobile Web is Free but does not give you turn by turn like Navigator.

Quote:
MapQuest Navigator
MapQuest Navigator helps you find places, get maps and receive voice-guided, turn-by-turn directions using the latest GPS technology on your mobile device. Decide where you want to go and MapQuest Navigator will guide you there quickly and easily, anywhere, anytime!

MapQuest Mobile
Find places, get maps and directions on your phone wherever you are. Next time you get MapQuest directions, don't print them. Click on the 'Send To Cell' link at the top of the page.

MapQuest For Mobile Web
If you have a mobile browser on your cellphone, then you have MapQuest For Mobile Web! This freeČ mobile website allows you to find places, get maps and directions anytime you need them. Get the same power of MapQuest on your desktop, in a smaller version for your mobile device. You'll have the convenience and reassurance of MapQuest with you wherever you go!
With any of these programs there is data usage (more with the turn by turn) so unlimited data plan is recommended.
