Default New Pearl App: Find businesses by voice input

This was just released yesterday.

Anyone tried it? There's a demo on the page as well.

It's quite a different approach to Google maps to find businesses - but in the end, allows you to find a business, get phone #, address, map etc.

I won't get it until voice recognition improve alot.

In fact, most of the 411 is now using it but I think it's just beta. If it doesn't understand you, it switch you to a live operator.

They are improving the voice recognition but it's still long way to go.

Great find! I have the Google entry in my address book so now I just do a voice dial to get to the voice activated 411 prompt. Works pretty good.

One suggestion: Don't list your address entry as "google", do it as "411" because the voice recognition software has a hard time understanding the word "Google" but has no trouble understanding "411".

I bet Google's next feature will be to ping you with a Google Map of the location you are requesting. That would be cool.

Here's another 411 that is free and it been around longer. In fact, it was one of the two first one that come out as a free 411. It's been out for more than 2 years.

The number is 1-800-373-3411. I believe it translate to 1-800-Free411 but I am not sure.
