| Dont use alcohol to clean pearl!! BAD EXPERIENCE Please Login to Remove! Few days ago, I saw some dirty things on LCD screen. Then I use alcohol to clean it. After that, it becomes worst.
The lense was burned! There is a mark on it.
And the worst thing is, alcohol is filtered in the LCD panel. There is another water mark on it.
I bring the phone to service. they said there is no way to get rid of that water mark inside the LCD. And there is no way to clean the burned mark by alcohol on lens.
well..too bad...just remind your guys, do not use alcohol to clean 8100.

| What kind of alcohol did you use?
This is the first time I heard about this.
You suppose to use rubbing alcohol or denatured alcohol (if you can find it).
If you did use one of the two things I just mention than you must have did something wrong.
Next time, try taking out the battery and than clean it.
After you clean it, wait few minutes and than put the battery back in the phone. | | Offline

| If you use iso alcohol, the same stuff you use to clean sunglasses, it will not harm any part of the Pearl including the screen. I used it all the time up until I purchased a Speck see thru case and never had a problem. | | Offline

I've used this since I first got a BB. It is the best thing I've ever used for cleaning cell phones and PDAs. I used to have people just come by my office just to have their BB "shined"

| i would spray 1 shot of windex onto a soft napkin and clean the phone, then wet another napkin with water (squeeze out the excess) and go over it again.
when it's dry, use one of those cloths that come with sunglasses (microfiber) to remove any streaks and dust. | | Offline

The ammonia in the windex will eat the plastic and produce very bad results. Windex is one of the primary killers of laptop screens, PDA screens, etc from people who dont realize how it can cloud plastic.
If you are going to use anything on plastics or lcd screens themselves, the safest solution is isopropyl rubbing alcohol, usually around the 50-70% range. | | Offline

I think he realized he made a mistake when he was cleaning it.
Now he is too embarrassed to reply back. | | Offline
