Default Messages folder and myname@email.com folders?

Please Login to Remove!

OK this is really driving me mad.
I have two e-mail acounts set up on my BB. Both email accounts are displayed on the screen as an envelope with a small globe. I also have a 'Messages' folder and a SMS/MMS folder. Four in total.

I don't want any messages to come into the 'Messages' folder, in fact I want to hide that or delete it. I only want my two e-mail account folders and the SMS/MMS folders. I want the phone to put the little red star next to the folder in which I have a message and make the corresponding sound I have set in the profiles. I only want three in total and I want to bypass/turn off the main messages folder so I know what is going on!!!

I have searched but I can't find a straight answer. Please could anyone help?

Press ALT + the Home key (has the BlackBerry symbol). This will bring up the option to Hide an Application. You can simply hide those message folders you do not want to see.

All messages go tot he messages folder and also to a folder for their individual account. You delete the message and it is gone from both locations.

That is the way the BB works. No way around it as far as I know.

I wish they had put a bit more thought into it when they made the phone. Its main selling point is e-mail etc and even that doesn't seem to have had common sense applied.

I reckon they ran out of time when they developed this phone and it didn't get tested properly. That message thing is crap. Maybe they will address it in a future download??

Um...I don't think it's just this phone. I think plenty of development has gone into this. I like it personally because I can go to one place to see my messages from all 4 accounts I have on my BB. The only thing I didn't like was that SMS/MMS got lumped in there but an upgrade to the TIM Italy release fixed that!

I have never seen a way around this, though.

**EDIT--As stated above, you can hide this folder. At first I was figuring you can't.

I don't think the ALT key is necessary (or at least isn't on my Pearl) but you can select "Hide Icon" and it will not appear on your screen.
