Default PEARL is too SLOW!!!

Please Login to Remove!

You know, after using the PEARL for 5 months now and I find it to be too friggin' slow with the response time when switching apps and getting into the phone.

I like my previous 7130g. The 7130g is more stable, faster with response time when switching apps and getting into the phone.

Has anyone else have this problem?

I really don't care about the camera on the PEARL. I care about the microSD expandable memory cause I would use that as my USB thumbdrive to store my confidential documents in there as I carry my BB with me and then plug the BB to the computer to access the files like a USB thumbrive.

I really wish they have expandable memory for the 7130g. Either a SD, miniSD or MicroSD.

what software version are you running? BB offers free software upgrades that help with speed and other bug fixes.

well how many extra apps do you have? music? pictures? how much memory do you have left? If your memory is low that could be one source. I think my pearl speed is just fine

Also checked to see if you have emails or mms that contain large attachments and delete them. Try this, Press alt+LGLG and clear the log, this helps.

Default Memory problems

Depending on how many application you've installed, themes and photos you may be running out of memory. Try Alt + RACE and check how much memory you have.

Try pulling the battery and see if the number increased and if your unit is working better or not. Post back results.

What I found is, if you have too many program running in the background, it will slow it down.

Do this, press and hold down the shift key (lower left) and return key (just right of the track ball). Go to each program and close it. The only ones you can not close is, BB Messager, browser, home screen, messages, and phone.

That should do the trick.

I think that it's real stupid how you aren't able to close those... Considering that having more programs in the background would slow the phone down.

the only time my pearl is slow or laggy is when someone is on BB Messenger and typing a message to me. You know when it puts the bubble icon, and says "X is typing a message". No matter what I am doing on my BB, or where I am at (internet, options, calendar, alarm clock etc) the whole BB is really laggy until they hit SEND and the message arrives. I have 39mb of free memory, and I clear my alt+lglg often. (Cingular pearl with 4.2.0.73)

Exclip - Alt + LGLG will take you to device log file that you can clear to free up memory AND used by network provider/balcberry to troubleshoot issues if you ever go have to go that far.

Search is your best friend on this forums, most things are already discussed by many contirbutors
