I have a Cingular 8100. It came with blackberry messenger but when I try and add a contact it only gives me the option of adding an email address. I can't add people by PIN. If someone adds me and sends me a message it just comes in as a pin message and not a messenger message. Anyone able to help me out?

Put the pin in the recipients address book entry and then try sending them an invite FROM BB Messenger, it works.

Nope. Asks "which address" and gives me their email as the only choice.

I actually figured it out. If the contact has 2 emails it won't work. Had to delete one of his email addresses out of my address book.

Go to BB Messenger and go to the contacts. Hit the menu button and "add a contact." Type in the name and send. If the recipient has a BB it will message them and ask them if they accept the invite. Then they should be in your BB Messenger contact list.

in BBMessenger go to add contact>press menu button> add by pin

NO! Your all wrong. well, kinda. Go to BB Messenger>Hit Menu>Add Contact>HOVER over USE ONCE>hit menu>Request by Pin.
