Default Low profile charger for BMW console

Can someone recommend a low profile charger that fits in the BMW center console. A regular car charger does not work :(

This might be a little too much for you, but is what I did cause I like to do things with my car.

I hardwired a cig ligter extension to 12v switched wires up front. I then hid the extension around the side of my shift boot. I also plug in the phone cig lighter into the extension here and wrap in tape to make sure they stay connected - they are now totally hidden under the shift boot. I then took the power end and fit it under the side of the center console so it lays on the front passenger floor. I bought a pro-fit (i think thats the name) holder which bolts beside the radio and glovebox. Now I can have my phone in the cradle looking at me while Im driving and if I want it to charge I just plug it in to the charger end.

Since you tapped into the 12v switched you will only be able to charge the phone when the car is on. This is a good thing cause you dont want it having power on ALL the time obviously.

This was for my M3 so I guess it all depends on the setup of yours.

This is quite a setup. I have the new 335i Coupe and luckily it come with a 12V DC plug in the center console but the problem is that the regular chargers from Cingular and ebay are too bulky (high) and interfere with the console cover when closing. I need a low profile version similar to this one (Monster Ultra Low Profile Charger for iPod from zZounds.com) but for BB instead of IPOD.

Thanks for trying to help!

EDIT: Apparently monster cable just released an ultra-low profile charger for BB and Mot V3. 29.99 + free S&H.

No problem - I wasnt sure if you wanted something you actually needed to plug in or not. With mine all you see is the end of the charger which goes into the phone - the wire itself comes out of the floor from under the center console. Car is on then I can charge my phone - car is off the charger turns off.

This is exactly what i need for my car, as i also can't close the armrest.

Found that charger on Amazon, but unfortunately they don't ship the item outside the USA.

¿Does anybody know how to find it in Europe?

otherwise, keep your eye on ebay...i have heard they show up there once a while but not sure if they ship to EU

Is it really a 10 foot cord like it says? That's longer than the darn car!

na... thousands have called, emailed, and wrote to them about fixing the subframe issues in the E46's that are potentially very dangerous and unsafe and not to mention costly to fix.. and they have not even thought about a recall on it... i will own nothing but BMW's but there is room for improvement..
