Default Downloading Contacts

Please Login to Remove!

Does anyone have any bright ideas in getting the contacts on my 8100 to download to the Nokia 616/810 car kit I have installed? The 616/810 is currently telling me 'Download is not compatible' when I try to do this which might just be the case but I thought I would ask all the same!

I have sorted the disconnecting problem I previously had by setting country code to UK/+44. (Not entirely sure why this should work but so be it!)

Thanks

The Nokia 616 Car Kit provides a convenient solution for pairing the devices. in SIM Access mode, the Nokia 616 Car Kit generates and shows a randomly chosen 16 digit code on the car kit display, which the user has to key into the compatible mobile phone in order to be paired with the Nokia 616 Car Kit. This code is used only once and the user is not required to memorize it.
In Handsfree Profile mode the user enters a code of his choice at the Nokia 616 and subsequently the same code on his mobile phone.

Download contacts
You can use this feature to copy contact entries from the car
SIM card inserted in the car kit or from a compatible mobile
phone supporting Bluetooth wireless technology to the car kit
memory.
Note
Some mobile phones that support SIM access mode or
hands-free mode may not support this feature.
Note
Many phones with the Symbian operating system
require an additional application to be installed in order
to download contacts. The software and installation help
can be downloaded free of charge from the Nokia
website: Nokia - Nokia 616 - Car Kits - Car Solutions - Accessories.
Note
You do not have direct access to the contact entries
stored on a car SIM card inserted in the car kit. To access
these numbers, you must copy them into the car kit
memory. Follow the instructions shown on the display.
Look on Page 63 of this manual. Hope it helps.

Default Contact Downloads.

Thanks for taking the time to look up and copy & paste all that brucejr; much obliged!

I take it then, as I obviously wont have sim access connection and cannot download the contacts in normal handsfree profile mode (which is how I am currently connected) I will have to insert my sim directly into the Nokia 616/810 junction box and copy all the numbers over?

Thanks again.

No prob! That's what it looked like when I glanced it over, SIM card insertion looks like your only option.

Cheers!
