As an old Nokia wizard I used to walk & type with one hand, I have tried this with the Pearl and it doesn't work. It is not possible to type 0-9 or any of the punctuation marks that can only be reached with the shift key (!?@.,+*)

Or does anyone have a solution (other than using my other hand!).

Seems like a minor irritant that could be solved by RIM quite easily (press the letter key long enough to get the number, include !?@.,+* in the symbol menu...

To type a number or symbol on the keyboard, simply TAP the ALT key first, with your one hand.

Use the ALT key before each number or symbol.

I tend to use one hand until I absolutely need both. Like hold down ALT while typing R-A-C-E for an info screen.

Alt+.... or sym+... Will work for you one handed.
