Default Pearl Media Player Controls

Please Login to Remove!

Two questions:

1. Which bottons control rewind, FF and skip for the Pearl media player (bought mine without documentaion) and;

2. Can I play a whole album through without having to pick individual songs?

These may be stupid questions but at first use I can't intuitively tell how to do these things.

Thanks

If you create folders in the music folder using Media Manager, you can then select PLAY ALL from the options menu

#6 is forward to the next track, #4 is back to the start of the track and once again to go back one song. If you highlight the track timeline (scroll up, it will turn blue) and hit the enter key (bottom right of the keyboard), or press the pearl button in, the indicator will turn blue and you can use the trackball to fastforward or reverse within the song.

If you create folders, you can play whole folders for playlists.

Very interesting. I saw something in another thread about using Windows Explorer to drag and drop but I can only seem to do it through the Media Manager. Anyone know about this?

You can use windows explorer to load the media, but you have to have a Micro SD card installed and you have to enable Mass Storage Mode (Options/Advanced Options/Media Card). Then Windows will see it as another drive. *:\blackberry\music is the folder where the songs are kept (* being your drive letter). It's also way faster than using the Media Manager

Hmmm...

I have enabled mass storage on my microSd card and my computer (Windows Explorer) still does not see anything.

When you connect to the computer if have you told the BB to use mass storage mode you should get a pop up screen in windows as soon as you plug in your usb for a "Removable Disk" that asks you what you want windows to do (select "open folder to view")

If you have a password enabled on your BB, you have to input it on the BB before you're computer will see it.

Ok, I'd like to add another question to this thread. Can I set the interval between songs in my playlist to "0" like with the iPod? Some of my music blends from 1 song to another and the 1 or 2 seconds of silence is annoying.

I think you are going to find the media player is pretty rudimentary. Almost an afterthought or last minute throw in, it seems like.

Replacing the iPod, it won't be.

Maybe its because I don't have enough time at work, but I haven't been able to use the folders idea to make playlists. I rarely have enough time to listen to more than 1 song at a time anyway.

Folder idea did work for me. Just create it in Media Manager and on the Pearl you suddenly have the "play all" option.

The OP should look into the Dollar5 media player. I think that is right up his/her alley. More features than the standard player.
