Question MMS Question

Please Login to Remove!

Hey guys,

Sorry if this is a repost but i have a quick question.

I recently purchased my pearl, its amazing but im kind of disappointed because it requires me to have internet and email to access my MMS. I paid for the unlimited text but not the internet because i just plain and simple dont need it. So heres my question:

Is there anyway to access MMS or send one without having the data plan. If so can someone send me a link, or guide me in the right direction into solving my issue.

Thanks

I'm not trying to be critical, I'm just wondering why you bought the Pearl if you only intend to use the phone for calls and Texts. You're leaving most of the features out!

That being said, since you won't be using a data plan, you don't have to worry about the service books. They are the information your phone needs to push your email to the phone. No data plan, no email push.

Ditto with MMS. No data plan, no MMS.

What does your phone say in the top right? EDGE? edge? GPRS? gprs? GSM?

You have to have "EDGE" or "GPRS" (which requires a data plan) in order to use MMS. "edge" "gprs" and "GSM" will only allow phone and SMS texts.

Because i wanted it for myfaves. It was one of the more attractive phones from tmobile and thought it was a change from motorola and i didnt want an unlocked phone. If there is no other way that is phone. I will deal with it. it only says edge so im guessing i cannot send any data at all. Will there be any way in the future to use internet over my home connection or hot spots?

No worries, just wondering. I agree with you, when I was at the AT&T store it was one of the better looking phones period.

As for your other question, no. We were just discussing this in another thread. This phone doesn't have WiFi so it won't ever have that capability. T-Mo has you over a barrel. Ya want the internet, ya gotta pay.

Not on the 8100 currently, and for the future EXTREMELY unlikely on the 8100. However, my foretelling-the-future-skills are not up to par, so...

You're not screwed over, you still have a GREAT phone that a lot of people will be jealous of, having no data plan isn't the end of the world, read the forums more and you'll find a thread showing you how to download files over the air without having the data plan =D

Why not get a data plan, I mean you say you won't use it, but who know I mean it is only 20$ a month its really not that much extra. I bet you will end up using it way more than you think if you get it.
