Default Can I hide company in the contact list?

Anyone know if you can hide the company name showing after the contact? I have company data for many contacts, but I'd rather just see the names in my list - makes it less cluttered.

I do not believe you can. If there is a Company name in the entry it will show. Only options I can see are sort by last name, first name, or company.

I was afraid of that. I've moved the Company name into the Job Title field in Outlook, never used that field anyway.

When I finished changing the last contact and opened up the list on the Pearl it was already updated... love this BES integration. And the list looks so much neater too.

Default Alternative approach

An alternative approach (that would not mess up your Outlook Contacts data) would be to change the field mappings used in the Desktop Manager Synchronization:
  1. Launch Destktop Manager
  2. Double-click on Synchronize
  3. Choose the Configuration tab
  4. Press the Configure synch... button
  5. Make sure Address Book <--> Microsoft Outlook is highlighted and press the Configure button
  6. Choose Advanced settings...
  7. Press the Field Mapping... button
  8. From the right-hand list under "Contacts" Microsoft Outlook, drag the Company Name item down to an unused Handheld field (like User Defined 1)
  9. Click OK/Close to close out all of the dialog boxes

The next time you synchronize your contacts, the company field from Outlook will be placed in the User Defined 1 field on your handheld -- and the company name field will remain in your Outlook company name field.

My 2 cents

Great workaround solution SCODonnell! Lots easier than moving data in each contact if you have a large address book... Thanks for the input.
