Default use the pearl as a remote for ps3

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all, I know this may sound a bit silly, but its a good idea. Since the playstation 3 is Bluetooth capable, would it be possible to devise a software to link the pearl and the playstation 3 and use it as a Bluetooth remote? That would be something really neat and a great idea for all developers.

Since the PS3 is BT 2.0 enabled, it would depend on the program used. There are BT remote control programs for BT enabled phones. Uncertain if BB is compatible OS for them.
Bluetooth Remote Control, Mobile Phone Remote Controller for PC, Power Point, ITunes, WinAMP,Mouse

I was thinking about this the other day when I was trying to find a bluetooth remote for my PS3. I think it would be possible, but I'm not a programmer. Wish I was though. I will check with my contacts to see if they know how to point me in the right direction.

Hello bbforums friends, and thanks in advance for the help you all might provide in the near future for me, now just a thought... Do you know how much abuse your pearl is going to have to endure while being used a control?! I think that should be reason enough not to do this,
although it sounds like a good idea.

HEH funny you should all be talkin bout this I often thought hey why not the pearl as a remote for stuff. Like the TV for example hmm .Lets see yes its possible and has been done before just not with a pearl .Now with the pearl being much more complex then an N-Gage which i had a remote app working on ,don't see any reason why someone cant do it.

CHEERS NOW GET TA WORK TECHYS lol J/K

this does sound like a very good idea to me, but wouldn't work with anything but the latest technology with bluetooth. Many tv's and such aren't equipped with bluetooth, i don't know of any tv for that matter that uses bluetooth, but i could be wrong. but as for the ps3, that sounds like a great idea, i had an app for my old palm zire 31 that used the ir (gone off of the bberry's) for a remote control

I usually just like to read what people have to say. I don't normally comment, but I have to say this is a great idea. I definately had a good chuckle but it could have some uses, for instance what if your PS3 controller needs to be repaired... LOL
