Default cingular phone, tmobile service...questions

Please Login to Remove!

i picked up a cingular blackberry pearl, had it unlocked, and i have tmobile service. i'm wondering if i activate the BlackBerry internet/e-mail service, if it will work just fine? or would i need to modify some settings? also, i was wondering if you're able to make your own e-mail by activating the BlackBerry service, just like the sidekick, or is it that you can just link up 10 of you own e-mails such as yahoo or gmail. can anybody help? thanks!

You just need to add the Blackberry Data plan to your T-Mobile account.

"DATA CONNECTION REFUSED" shows up on my home screen... what does that mean? does that have to do with the fact that i don't have the bb internet service setup?

Yes. Once you have a data plan setup on your account, that message will go away.

Two ways to get rid of the message. One is to get the data plan. If you don't get the data plan you can go to >Options >Network >Data Services: Off

What about the Enterprise Activation ? Can you just turn it on ?

I'd like to play/save mp3 & wav attachments . It's a red at&t but a mycing.bb.net account . Thanks .

I have the same type of problem. My BB says "Data Connection Refused" even though I have added the Data Plan through Cingular last Sunday. I also did the following:

- was with a Cingular Tech on the phone for 1 1/2 hours, who said to get a new sim card
- got a new sim card & it still says "Data Connection Refused"
- took the battery & sim card out numerous times and I still get that message

Is there anything else I can do as I am still unable to use the BB Data Service on my 8100? The BB is an unlocked T-Mobile one and I'm using it on the Cingular network. I can use it as a cell phone just fine, but data does not work.

Thank you.

my friend that works for t-mobile setup my data plan yesterday. i just finished setting up the e-mails but yet i cannot access my browser or sign onto Ramble IM... he did say that it may take up to 24 hours, but is there a chance that it may take longer? i just hope that it's originally a cingular phone doesn't affect the data plan on t-mobile's network.
