So, I got a replacement Pearl after my first Pearl's speaker stopped working. [i couldn't hear on the phone. i had to enable speaker phone to hear them.]
So yeah, T-Mobile sent me a replacement, was working fine for a month, 3 days ago, same thing happened to the replaced one. I never dropped it. Called T-mobile again, today they sent me a new Pearl. Now I'm trying to figure out how to reformat/clean out my old Pearl before I return it. any help?
1) doesnt have Browser . In the application loader, it is Browser = [checked]
2) I don't see the option to setup my emails.
3) instead of EDGE, it says edge now right underneath the bars...

You'll need EDGE not edge, however. To resend the service books go to >Options >Advanced Options >Host Routing Table. Click the menu key and select "Register Now."
Cycling the wireless radio off then on may help bring edge back to EDGE. If that doesn't work reboot by removing the battery. Also, check under >Options >Network that data services are "on."
Just curious...what's the difference between EDGE and edge? Does upper case indicate you are on a bb plan, while the lower case is for data coverage for non-BB devices? Just wondering.

lower case edge means its available but you are not connected to it, upper case you are on the network. so if you have lower case its useless (indicates no bb data).
I dunno how true that "edge" difference is, because at Fort Leonard Wood, I get perfect data services with just GPRS. I think the difference in case simply indicates the speed it's going to operate at, otherwise I think it would just always say GPRS. Just my $.02.
The difference is not between EDGE and GPRS but between edge and EDGE. If it's lower case anything you won't get any data services. The service books won't even download with edge or gprs. You have to have EDGE or GPRS.
