Default UK O2 GPRS charges

I use my 8100 as a modem sometimes to access my email via webmail using SquirrelMail software on our server.

After loggin in only the email titles are listed, the entire email is not downloaded unless I click on the title.

In my April bill I have been charged over £26 for this use. At about £1 per 1Mb that amounts to about 26Mb of email. This cannot be correct.

An average email without attachment is 5 -10Kb. The bill suggests that over an 18 day period totalling a time span of about 90 minutes I dowloaded a massive amount of email.

I would be interested to hear any views on this, someone might be able to explain it. It does not make sense to me.

Bob

well, if you've used/still are/your bberry as a modem, imagine that you are loading not only the e-mails but the whole graphical user interface of any single page you open.
why don't you fwd your e-mails straight to your bberry? that would cut down dramatically the bandwidth you are using at this moment.
(what contract do you have with O2)

exactly, the same Iíve got.
mine is £15 a month, virtually unlimited, originally was £10/75mb/month.

I must say, I really like O2 despite the fact that they don't bother to display themselves on Bberry website as a provider.

its either £10 or £15 depending on your price plan, if your on a price plan of £35 and above, BB = £10.

Its listed as unlimited but nothing is unlimited in this world, so it has a fair usage policy of 75mb.
