Default can't import all my contacts errors out at 260

Please Login to Remove!

I have been keeping my contacts in my phone for several years and I have gotten quite a list I am up to about 593. I loaded the contacts from my old nokia into my outlook contacts and then tried to sync with the latest bb desktop software. It goes thru everything but hangs at 260 and stops. Has anybody had this issue? Is it mabe trying to write to the sim card? any help would be appreciated.

Which version Desktop manager? I have 4.2.1.8 (Jan 16, 2007). Sound like it could be a SIM card issue, Do you have a Micro SD card?

Have you ever been successful in transfering all of the contacts on your BB? If not, I am guessing that you have a contact with a blank field or bad value. Alpha in a numeric field, etc.

If you have been successful (and you are 100% sure all contacts are on your PC) you can connect try the following:

Connect to DM
Select Backup/Restore
Select Advanced
Select the Contact database and check clear (this will delete all contacts from phone)
Sunchronize the BB and it should send the entire Contact Database.

Hope this helps!

I had the same problem. i edited all my Outlook contacts so that the names were listed the same ie First Name > Surname

This cured the problem when syncing with Outlook
