If anyone has a solution to this that would be great. One of my users is having the same issue.

Basically, none of the keys work, except the rolling action of the trackball, clicking the trackball does not work. It hasn't been dropped/thrown/smashed/etc. Supposedly, the phone sat in his pocket, unlocked. He took it out to look at it, and there were all the letters/numbers on the screen that he'd accidentally typed while it was in his pocket (obviously because it was unlocked). Ever since then, the keypad does not work. I've tried cold rebooting, etc--doesn't seem to be helping.

Anyone ever run in to this? I'm guessing it's going to end up being a hardware issue (maybe the inner key board is shot?).

edit---- btw, this is also an 8100

i had the same problem when i first got my phone. check your volume keys. i guarantee one of them is stuck. i had the same problem, so i kept throwing it towards a carpet and it fixed itself, though i wouldn't recommend that solution.
