Default new owner having some trouble

Please Login to Remove!

I just purchaced my bb 8100 pearl today and i bought it unlocked, i put in my sim card from my nextel i730 and it didnt bring up any of my contacts and says searching in the top middle of the screen? any idea on whats wrong? thanks

nextel will not work with a 8100

My first thought is that the SIM card is not inserted firmly or correctly. If it were not truly unlocked, it would give a different message such as Invalid SIM card.

If it was not inserted properly, it would read Insert SIM Card.

yeah the insert sim card went away, why wont it work with a nextel, i thought all sim cards were interchangeable? i.e boost, t-mobile, nextel, sprint....etc....

so you have nextel service witch is IDEN and your using a unlocked 8100 from a GSM service and your trying to use the nextel service ? won't work incompatible

ya sorry bro nextel is nextel as they are IDEN the only one your unlocked 8100 will work with T-mobile Cing and a few others CAD ones
