Default Mass Storage Problems - 8100

Please Login to Remove!

I have enabled everything I can for Mass Storage for my 1gb SD Card and I still can't "see" my files or new folders in the Pearl unless I place them into one of the 4 predefined Blackberry folders. Is this just the way this works or should I be able to see other folders I have created? I can see them through the desktop media manager.

any1's input welcome on this as i'm not 100% sure, but i think the sd card gets formatted when you insert it for the first time into the bb. when i got my pearl i remember i insterted an sd card i had from my previous phone and it wiped out the images i had on it.

so if im not mistaken, it will create a blackberry folder. inside that folder, you can create new folder that are viewable when you look for pics/sounds/etc. if you want the device to reformat the card, first reformat it on your pc using FAT, then put it in the device and power-cycle it.

i'm not 100% on this, but give it a shot. bb's do format newly inserted cards.

Correct try formatting the card first. I just got my pearl last week and my card yesterday and when I put it in it recognized it but you have to format it and it will create all the folders for you.

Let me clarify; I have the 4 Blackberry folders and if I place things into them, I can see what I have put in, I just can't see anything else, i.e. other folders I have created outside of the Blackberry 4. If I reformat the card will I then be able to see new folders?

you can create new folders within the predefined 4 folders and you will see the new folders, however new folders created outside the predefined 4 will not appear... I had tried creating a podcast folder for my pearl and it would only appear after placing that folder within the predefined music folder

I knew I saw this before. RW you're a genius. This is what I was looking for and a good way to hide things!
