Hi guys,

I bought the BlackBerry Pearl a few days ago, and i'm having a little trouble with caller ID. When I put my contacts into the phone (by hand!) I put the numbers in as so.. 07**** I then found out that when I received a message the name of the person wasn't showing up, but the phone number was (pretty useless if you dont know who has text you) so I went right through my phonebook and manually changed all the numbers to +447*****, that worked fine, but now... when I get a phonecall from anyone in my phonebook only the number appears (as 07****) and not the name! It seems like I have to compromise between knowing who's calling me and who's texting me!

How do i sort this out? The guide book is useless! Possibly the worst guide book i've ever had, which is a shame because I love the phone, but I can't be expected to remember everybodys telephone number can i!?

Hmm - second time TODAY answering the exact same question. Damn "search" button must not be working.

Go into the phone application, then Options and Smart Dialing. In the Country Code field, type +44 (assuming the UK is your home country). It should work now.

I am getting good at typing that

Remove all the country codes, etc., from your numbers. Go to Phone > Options > Smart Dialing. Change the Country Code to +44.
