Yep. Do a search on here and you'll find it answered over and over and over again.

an unlocked BB would not have changed the splash startup screen.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry Pearl (8100): Opera/8.01 (J2ME/MIDP; Opera Mini/3.0.6306/1662; en; U; ssr))

What's the big deal with having a T-Mobile splash screen? It doesn't affect the phone at all.

Its not so much affecting the phone, its more to do with customizing the phone. Same reason you change wallpapers and ringtones or download the ColourPearl app. ^^
But you must agree, starting/closing the phone to a different splash screen than tmo would be nice. :p

I'm sure it's possible to change it, we just don't have the tools yet. I had two motorola phones previously and there are extensive tools to play with them. You could do seem editing, change startup/shutdown gif, add features that weren't normally on the phone, add menu options that were hidden, etc. Not to mention flex/flashing. You could also browse ALL the files on the phone in an Explorer type window, including all system files. I'm sure it's possible to do with Blackberry, the software just might not be out there yet.

Motorola is not BlackBerry though. The BB OS is actually secure
