Default Calendar Sync problem

Please Login to Remove!

Note: This probably applies to more than the 8100. Please advise if I should post it somewhere else.

I have a 8100 syncing to MS Outlook on WinXP. I don't use an enterprise server or Exchange -- it's just my computer running Outlook 2003/SP2, and Blackberry Desktop Manager v.4.2/SP1. I'm not sure of the firmware version on the 8100 but one screen says v4.2.0.42(Platform 2.2.0.28).

After I sync the calendar, there are a few recurring appointments that are 1 hour off!

Both machines claim to be on EST. I've tried resetting the clock using Outlook before syncing but that doesn't help. I've tried deleting the appointments from the 8100 & reloading all appointments from Outlook but that doesn't help. I've looked at the Blackberry knowledgebase and checked the DLL. That didn't help either.

Can anyone a way to fix this?

Thanks,
MaxY

Wirelessly posted (8700c: BlackBerry8700/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

What time does your BB say on the home ribbon? Is it accurate to the current time? If it is off a couple of mintues no big deal.
I think you might be missing the daylight savings time update but not sure.

The times on the host and 8100 are the same. I was also suspicious of the DST update since all of these recurring appointments began before daylight savings started.

However, I had previously loaded the latest software service packs (v.4.2/SP1) which claim to have included the DST fix.

In case they were incorrect, where do I find the DST update?

In case they were correct, any other ideas?

DST patch worked! I didn't realize the patch was for the device firmware and not the Desktop manager.

I did burn several hours trying to find, download, and deploy the patch. I wish Blackberry would take a weedwhacker to their website. A simple download button and non-web install would be lovely.

Thanks,

MaxY

The install direct from your BB browser is simple and direct, it even detects your model, etc. Been posted on this board hundreds of times over the past two months.
