Default Cingular Insurance and high media prices?

Please Login to Remove!

Has anyone heard when Cingular will offer insurance for the pearl. I just found out they don't after I bought mine. Kid in the store said maybe soon. Also, why the hell are their internet prices soo much higher then other providers. Any help would be great.

What do you mean they don't offer insurance? Did you try to get it when you first got the phone? Yeah, their prices are way too high!

Easy little trick with Cingular and phones they do not cover. Keep calling customer service until you get a rep who doesnt know any better and adds insurance to your account. ONce you have the insurance on your acct (meaning they dont look at what type of phone you have and just add it because they think its ok) they will cover your phone even if they say they wont. A friend of mine told me about this and I have used it. When you need to use the insurance you call and attempt to make a claim. When the claim rep realizes you have an invalid phone, they always say, "well you as the customer did not know we do not offer coverage on this phone, so we will cover you this one time, and cancel your insurance after this one replacement." And its done, you have a new blackberry and thats it. They even left the insurance on my acct still by accident so I get todo it again.......good luck everyone...

Well, I rarely get insurance on phones. Just personal preference since I haven't lost or broken a phone yet (I guess I better knock on wood now). Plus, paying the monthly fee to only pay a deductible for a refurb/used phone just doesn't sit too well with me.

Internet/BB plan prices wise, T-mobile is the only provider that has less expensive Blackberry plans. Verizon and Sprint doesn't offer a BIS plan at all and their BES plans are on par with at&t when opting for their BES plan ($5 dollars less on Verizon when you get the voice/data combo package).
