Question Phone Call Volume (not ringer) too low - how to increase it

Please Login to Remove!

Hi

Most of the calls I receive I have difficulty hearing the other person. I am not deaf - I have had 3-4 others test it for me-they are not deaf either. I know about the volume up and down buttons. I know and have the call volume settings at 100%.
What else can I do to increase the call volume so I can actually hear it louder?

Default

go to your Profiles on the BB. Click to EDIT the active profile (it will be marked ACTIVE). Scroll down to phone. Look at VOLUME. Select the volume setting and make it is set to HIGH, in both IN HOLSTER and OUT OF HOLSTER settings.

Look at TUNE, if you wish to select an overall louder ringtone.

Good luck!

Oops. Sorry about the mistaken reply, my bad in reading your original message. I apologize...

You scroll to set the volume all the way up. You have the phone volume set at 100% at Phone, Options, General Settings, Default Call Volume.

You may genuinely need a handset replacement from your carrier if the earpiece is bad. Have you tested it with a wired earpiece or bluetooth earpiece to see if the volume remains low?

Angry I also have no volume on handset

I have the same problem with my Pearl 8100.

Yesterday I hooked up my Blackberry Pearl to my newly purchased Vista Vaio laptop using the USB cable to synchronize everything with Outlook. Ever since there is no volume on my handset when I make phone calls (with/ without being connected to the computer). The other person on the line can hear me but I cannot hear him/her even with volume at 100%. The ringer is fine. The speakerphone and bluetooth piece still works but evertime I "Activate the Handset" the volume completely goes away.

I spent hours with tech support troubleshooting this thing: turned it off by taking out the battery and turned it back on again, installed the latest handheld software, switced "Profiles", played around with "Options" menu.... but still was not able to sovle the problem. Now I have given up and have to opted to get it exchanged from T-Mobile!

I am on warranty until end of this year. I only wish I had purchased the additional insurance from T-Mobile during the first 14 days, when I had that option to do so. If it malfunctions again after my warranty is over next year, I will have to purchase a brand new phone again. I just bought this thing 6 months ago!!
