Last night my phone died, and after charging it I turn it on and get that message and that it needs to be formatted ... Why? It worked fine before the pearl died why does it need formatting? I'm on the road and can't hook it up to my computer plus I don't want to lose everything that's on it ... Thanks a lot for any ideas!

I would try putting a different card in there, and see if that works. If it can't read two micro-SD cards, odds are your BB is hosed.

Hosed already? I don't have another card but when I get home ill are if hooking the phone to usb does anything

so i formatted it (via the option in the BB) and hooked it up to my PC and it worked as mass storage thing again, so i guess everything is okay? i just have to put everything back on it, drag.

any ideas why it would have "broken" or so?? was it that i let my battery get fully drained, because i kept turning it on and it'd say "no battery" and turn off...i kept turning it on until that didn't happen anymore (absolutely NO power left in that case)...
