Default Locked While in Car Kit - 05-06-2007, 06:34 PM

Hi all,

First off - the hours this site has saved me has been invaluable! Well done and thanks - seriously!

Question though if possible. Have tried Search - but nothing there

I've got a fully fitted car kit (i.e when incoming/outgoign calls it's all piped through the car speakers and cuts the radio etc. - charges the 8100 all the time etc.) - works perfectly.. however..

Is there any way of making the 8100 stay unlocked when in a car kit? The whole point of clicking the left hand convienience button (voice dialling) while in the car goes out the window when you have to key in your unlock password befoer you can dial..

Any help? Really grateful if there is a way of it staying unlocked while in the kit.

Cheers

Charlie

Are you on a corporate BES? If the BES requires the BB to lock then there's no way to circumvent that, even while in the car kit. If you just set the lock yourself, then you'd have to disable the password requirement.

Good luck! They have the policy for a reason. Unless you are very good buddies with your BES admin he/she will likely not change your IT policy requiring the password. Always worth a try, though.

Hi there,

Had the THB Bury universal car kit hard wired (i.e. when the phone rings it cuts out the radio/CD and voice is conversation is through mic above head and car speakers).

When the company change the phones - all I have to do then is change the adapter cradle that sits in the car kit. The 8100 example is on this link

Blackberry 8100 Pearl Cradle

But plenty of companies offer it I believe

Cheers

Charlie
