Default What is PIN?

There has to be something behind PIN...in my opinion its like a Social Security Number.

What I'm tryin to say is that each Numbers and Letters represent something about your Pearl. Like your SS# first 3 numbers are based on the state you got your SS#, so I'm thinkin PIN might work similar way.

So does anyone know if Numbers and Letters mean anythin to PIN?

Jus wondering...
My PIN starts wit 23xxxxxx and I'm in state of Nevada, how about yours'?

lol, It is a unique identifier for your specific BlackBerry device. There is no correlation between the alphanumeric code and your state. I am in Alabama and mine starts with 23 also.

Yea I was just wondering, it would have been kinda neat if numbers had some correlation. I'm still sure there's some correlation we all just have to find them, lol

There is no correlation. It's just a hexidecimal format number. Just a way to identify each device on the network and not have doubles.

Hi, bro. You can give your PIN to people so they can add you to their contact list and talk to you using BlackBerry Messenger. That's why some members of this forum use to have it on their profile, so they can be contacted easily.

Greetings,

whoa buddy, you have too much time on your hands. i don't think it has to do w/ anything about the person who owns the device. just my thoughts.

If you're in a support mode, as I am, a PIN to PIN message is one of the first things I do if someone calls me and tells me they can't send/receive email. If the PIN message doesn't go thru, then I know there is an issue with their data plan (or perhaps their carrier).
