Question Putting dashes between digits xxx-xxx-xxxx

Please Login to Remove!

Every number on my phone is shown all lumped together. 7135551212 instead of 713-555-1212. Is there any way to change this?

On a related note, when somebody calls me and I add it to the phone book, it puts a 1 in front, i.e. 17135551212. I'd prefer to not have the 1.

Any help would be appreciated!

The 1 doesn't matter, unless you obsess over it, just edit and remove it.

If you enter then numbers in Outlook, it will format the number correctly such as 123-456-7890 or (123) 456-7890, according to how you have it set. When you sync over, the BB will have them formatted correctly.

Otherwise, you can edit each number on the BB itself to place the dashes, one day you are bored with nothing else to do...

The "1" matters if you are overseas, I think. All my numbers have +1 in them. If you don't travel overseas, don't worry about it.

Thanks for your responses. It's not just a matter of having the dashes in my phonebook. When I look thru my call log or I'm dialing a phone number, having all the digits lumped together makes it difficult to read and makes mistakes much more common. I can't believe with a phone as functional as this is, they chose to disregard one of the earliest innovations of phones at all! BlackBerry, there's a reason the rest of the country uses dashes!

I know the 1 doesn't matter, but it just adds to the look jumbled look.
