Default Silent Mode?

Please Login to Remove!

I tried searching to make sure this question has been answered before but couldn't find it even though I'm sure it has to have been asked.

When I put the phone on "Vibrate" and recieve a test message or IM, it still rings. How can I turn this off?

Thank you!

Wirelessly posted (8700g: BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

Go to Profiles, edit, Click on your active profile, or in this case the VIBRATE profile, Edit, and down to your message, SMS, IM, PIN, MMS, Messenger, all that you want to edit to vibrate or do nothing while you are in Vibrate mode. I don't know obviously, which Instant Message app you use, but you may need to adjust some settings in it as well, but it should be listed in your profiles. Good luck.

Find profiles in options and look at settings for the vibrate setting. Everything should be set to vibrate (not vibrate + tone or tone).

Yeah. What they said. I had to go to my phone to find it, couldn't remember right off the bat. By the time I came back, they already said it. Still felt like typing for my trouble.

Wait... okay, maybe I'm just being totally clueless, I'm new to the BB.

I go to "Profiles", and then "Advanced" but for each thing it says "vibrate" for "in/out of holster", there are "tunes" selected but it says that they are on mute..... but when I get texts or IMs it still rings... am I looking in the right place?

So in the vibrate settings, you see a list of applications (browser, calendar, Level 1 messages, messages ...), correct? For the SMS and your IM application, is the out of holster and in holster set to either vibrate or none?
