Default Constantly "on" apps - PTT

Please Login to Remove!

I noticed in the new Rogers OS download that PTT is now in that list. Is there any way to kill that? Or even uninstall it completely? I won't be using it but it seems it's a permanent part of the OS

Options > Applications > Advanced: look for that application.

It is not listed under the long list of net_rim_bb_etc?

Options, Advanced, Applications, Modules.

Otherwise, just hide the icon, of course it will still be running in the background.

I never knew about that Modules list, so yeah I found it there. Looks like theres 2 for it, App and Lib. Although I don't see how to delete from that modules list. At least it won't LET me delete from it, so I assume it's a core app that can't be removed. Oh well, not a big deal. Just wish they'd let us pick what apps to leave running in the background.

If you change the vendor ID in the platform.alx for the PTT to one that is not yours it will get removed.

<fileset pttApp="True" Java="1.0" _vendorID="100">
<files>
net_rim_bb_phone_ptt_app.cod
KnJCDE.cod

The only apps that are always on are those that need to be available to events. Browser, messages, and BBMessenger are available for push events, phone is obvious, and PTT is the same reason.
