Hi guys and gals, i just got my blackberry pearl about a week ago, and for whatever reason it seems to freeze once a day. What happens is suddenly i won't be able to send any msgs, sms or pin. When I go to send the msg, i get a red X next to the msg instead of the blue checkmark. Also when this happens i can't make or recieve calls. I resolve this issue each time it happens by removing the battery and resetting my phone. Has anyone every heard of this happening? The guy I bought it from said I should look into upgrading the firm ware? I have no idea what that means or how to do it.... If anyone has any infor for me on this, it would be greatly appreciated.

how much internal memory do you have left? make sure you have atleast 15mb.

Did you buy this phone used? If so, there is any number of things it could be. I'm with the other poster, check your memory. Not the memory on your SD card, however.

If its not memory, and you did buy used, yeah I would say installing a new OS isn't a bad idea. Wiping it off before you do might be something to consider, too.

yeah it's starting to get on my nerves.... Checked the memory, more than 15mb of free space....downloading the firm ware now.... see if that helps.... thanks to all for the advice

yes..you should go to the website of the carrier. they should have upgrades on their website. I too had the same problem, and once I upgraded it was ok. you down load the softward then load it to your handheld via the desk top application. if it still doesn't work I suggest calling the tech support line for your carrier.
