Default no internet plan question

Please Login to Remove!

Is there a way to use any internet on the pearl w/o the data plan? such as your own wireless internet?
And when using the map feature on the phone, does that connect to the internet? Scared and i dont wanna be charged extra on the bill..

You must have a BB data plan in order to get internet on the BB. If you open the Map feature you will not get any maps since you have no data plan. You won't be charged extra since you don't have a data plan. Also, you can't connect to your own wireless internet (wifi.)

but when i use the map feature it works..

what do the arrows in the top right corner mean?

o yea another question..
is it normal that the phone doesnt read the memory card when the phone is connected to the usb port? because my 8100 isnt reading it right now..

Does it say "EDGE" or "edge" at the top of your screen? "EDGE" means you have a data plan. "edge" means you don't.

Yes, it's normal for the phone to not read the memory card when the phone is connected to the USB when mass storage is enabled. When you unplug it it will see it again.
