Hi, I am extremely new to BB's I just came from using a Treo 650 . I use to be able to set ringtones for different contacts. Can you do that with 8100? If so a link or explanation would be splendid!

Welcome to BlackBerry Forums. Yes - this is easy to do. It has been asked (and answered) several times before.

First you need to (obviously) copy the ringtone to the Pearl.
Edit the Contact you want to have a custom ringtone.
Click the menu button, scroll down and select "Add Custom Ring Tone" and select the ringtone you want to use for that contact.

unfortunately you have to do this individually and you cannot use groups
