I have a Pearl on the T-mobile service, but t-mobile does not yet have the EV-DO Network. They are still on the slower EDGE network, but i have heard that they are trying to switch over in the future.

My question is . . . Will I have to change phones if they go to EV-DO or will there be a software update that will allow me to access the faster network?

Now where do you hear this from? Because it is not correct.

If you decide to use an EVDO carrier (Sprint or Verizon) you must change phones.

I believe T-mo will roll out a HSDPA network later this year. No, the Pearl won't work with it.
