My $5.99 Tzone is not listed on my additional services anymore but am able to surf out, also I do not see that I subscribed to the unlimited $19.99/month data services, I guess I'll know by the end of the monthly bill whether I got charged extra for surfing or not. It's funny that you can use IM apps and do not have to get the data services anymore, supposedly the IM apps run on data lines right? there is no way to tell if you are running IM apps or just surfing?

I did, so paranoid about it nothing has shown up that was additional, I have the unlimited family texting plus the bb feature enable. I have Tzones on other phones, does anyone know if Tzone is added as a family bundle/package or is it per phone?

Ok, can someone explain to me this:

Which plan should I get to be able to use the GMail app to check email?

I want to check email but do not need the push email services.

You need the $19.99 plan to do this, I tried already.

I guess no one knows if Cingular has this feature now?

Does the BB feature enabler allow us to use googlemaps as well?

I don't know if Cingular has it, but Google Maps and BB Maps do not work unless you have the $19.99 data plan. I think it will work with the 5.99 plan if your able to get it.

BlackBerry Feature Enabler
This no cost feature allows customers with certain Blackberry devices who are not signed up for BlackBerry service to enjoy phone features such as Picture Messaging, Instant Messaging and t-zones.

Maybe if you have a chance to test it out, I'd love to know whether you were in fact able to tether.

This was the whole premise of my subscribing to data services.

i was able to succesfully tether with only the 5.99 tzones (in my case 2.99) and the blackberry feature enabler plan.

i don't know if everyone is going to be able to since many of you said that you guys were having difficult obtaining the tmobileweb plan.

btw, speeds were ~150kbps while tethering and proxy on firefox =D

got the blackberry feature enabler on today

called back later today to add on T-Web for 5.99

guy said i cant have both coexisting even after i tried to tell him i switch phones.

From the past comments on this thread im guess that TMO got smart and sent a bulletin or bug out to the CSR so that we can't have both, unless you got in before hand im guess we're screwed. Tether wont work with out the T-web, i just tried (it connects and all but i cant surf anything.)

Anyone think i should try for a different rep?

Very interesting. My contract is up for renewal in a few months. I think I'll negotiate a little something more when the time comes.

Right now, I have the BlackBerry Minutes and Mail (I think is what they call it), that gives me unlimited data/SMS and 1,000 minutes all in one package for $59.99. Suits me just fine.

what if you add the 5.99 tzones online and call in and ask for bb feature enabler added on maybe they will forget to see you have the 5.99 tzones and add it

also where do i change my apn settings to get opera mini working, because whenever it runs the test it always fails.

Hey guys, okay I think i might have saved you guys some money and effort, I figured out that you don't need the 5.99 unlimited tzones because all that gives you is access to the wap web pages, and the blackberry feature enabler already gives you that as long as you have the text messaging enabled, and as long as you have opera mini you have full access to all the web pages you want so i hope that answered most of your guys questions.

Tether is using the phone as a modem for your laptop, it gives you ~115KBps-150.

I tried using opera mini qith the APN set to wap.voicestream.com

and it ran all 11 tests and it came out with:

Failed to connect to the internet. -> G to operamini.com/help with your desktop browser or contact your SP for internet settings

Hmm that's strange Im not sure why that is, but as far as the tethering goes, if you give me the username and password, I will try it for you now.

Also try turning your phone off and on again and see if that helps with the opera mini browser

you dont need a user name and password for teethering....it involves a little setup. ill try to find the link for the thread. and ill try a soft reset.

Hmm, weird, yes I'm sure, because apps like google maps and IM don't work but opera mini works, tethering works, and i double checked t-mobile.com and called in and soft reset my phone and ya, i don't have a data plan, are you sure you have bb feature enabler on?

yes, now with BB feature enabler, you should have access to IM and MMS, which is what i have. And with the T-Web unlimited which is 5.99, you would most likely be able to access and tether. Im thinkin you have the tweb and not the bb feature enabler, but i might be wrong

So I called TMO CSR and she said that since it hasen't been 48 hours, everything hasen't switched over and that is probably why my tethering is still working and IM isn't working but I will for sure see if all that still works after the time frame is up, if so than that is cool, if not, im not really sweating it because I rarely use my cell as a connection

Well she said the opera might fizzle out as well but as far as what I have heard from other members is that they still have the opera working but they are just worried they will get charged, and according to TMO as long as you don't have a data plan you will not be charged for any data, on account that the bb feature enabler gives you unlimited tzones access, which is just the wap access, further more meaning opera mini goes through your wap connection, which is what it looks like but i could be wrong
