Just got a brand new 8100 from amazon.com but I have reasons to suspect it's refurbished. Can anyone tell? Thanks

well, basically i ordered a new red bb 8100 but returned it due to some complications.

my new unit just arrived and the side chrome housing (left) has a lot of play on it (not attached so well). The unit itself was wrapped differently than the first one. The first one didn't have a bag, this "new" unit came in an ugly plastic bag.

thanks

If I was you, I would return to avoid any future problems. You should not have to tighten anything on a product that is supposed to be brand new.

Best Skins Ever are only $7. I would remove them and send the phone back before voiding the warranty by disassembling it.

Hey, GTO...Do you realize you are talking to yourself and getting yourself all worked up? We don't need posts like this with your foul language just because you are ticked off. Just return it and buy one somewhere else. If you take it apart then you are stuck with the device. Send it back and be done with Amazon. FWIW, watch out for Amazon. You have to make sure who you are buying from and not everything is "new." You may have been legitimately jipped but taking out your frustrations here won't help.

Getting a full refund is all that counts in my opinion. If you got a great deal on it, then just order it again. There's a lot of people on this forum who got their Pearls for free, so be patient.

i understand, but the thing is, i opened a new contract through them. I've had problems with the first unit and requested a new one. At first, they told me "oh sorry, we can't give you a replacement because we're currently out of stock and don't know when we will have them again".

i emailed them and told them that I thought they were full of crap because on their website it says "IN STOCK!"

they replied and said "sorry for the trouble, we've sent a replacement right away!"

then it gets here and I'm told that they won't do another replacement and my only option is a refund. I didn't want to refund because their price is the best.

Here's the "replacement" product supposedly brand new.

that's the bag it came in.

that's the picture of the five previous stickers

Sorry John, this is just frustrating.

it's so easy for you guys but it means a week without a phone for me! I'm going to call them tomorrow. If they won't send another replacement, then I'm going to cancel and reorder i guess :(

btw, thanks for listening to my endless rant >:(

It's called an unbiased opinion/view.

That's why I always keep a standby BB/Phone. You never know.

A week without a phone, is better than having a refurbished one that can possibly give you headaches in the future!
