I can't quite figure out what's going on with my Pearl. I've noticed a couple oddities with it lately; I haven't been receiving text messages when people have told me they've sent them, and the call log doesn't retain my call history properly (I'll open my call log and it will display * No Calls *).

Yesterday while I was synching with my desktop an error popped up during the calendar synch which said something along the lines of "device memory full". I figured that could be the problem, so using the Media Manager I copied all my photos off the phone and deleted them, hoping that would clear some space. It seems that media occupies a different store, though, as it had no effect.

Under the Status display within Options it shows my File Free as being 0 Bytes, and my File Total as being 65142784 Bytes. If you hit the menu button on this screen you can view database sizes. It shows my Total Size for all databases as being 2133k. It says the largest database is the content store. Is this what is taking up all the space, and if so, what does it consist of? What can I get rid of to clear up space? I only have a few applications installed, and I've had them installed before these problems started happening. I highly doubt it could be the calendar or contacts, I don't have a very large amount of either. Any tips?

Do a battery-pull reset and see if the free memory goes up.

Wonderful, thank you guys! I had tried restarting, but didn't pull the battery. That did the trick. The free memory jumped up. Stupid computers always need a restart now and then, no matter how tiny they are..

You are welcome... I'd advise keeping any media, pictures, ringtones, etc, on the SD card just to keep the BB memory free.

Likewise, a good battery pull or soft reset about once a week is safe and smart thing to do to prevent the low memory loss of calls logs, etc.

I recommend you download the reset app which will reset the Pearl without you having to pull the battery. I have a hard case on my Pearl and it would be a pain to have to pull the battery on it to reset it.

I would second this. It is an extremely usefull App, espcially when you run out of memory
