Default Confused about data plans.

Please Login to Remove!

I just called Cingular and had the $39.99 unlimited plan added to my 8100.

I'm a bit confused, because I could have SWORN I saw a $34.99 unlimited personal plan somewhere last night. I was linked to it, because I couldn't find it on their page anywhere.

Anyways, does the $34.99 unlimited personal plan exist, or was I just exhausted to the point of my mind playing tricks on me?

And with the plan I currently have now ($39.99), can I tether and use it as a modem unlimited also? Which connection is faster, through the Desktop Manager or through Cingular's Communication Manager?

Sitting here waiting for my web browser icon to pop up!

Its actually 34.99 for unlimited, and $29.99 if you have a voice line attached to that blackberry.

You also need to resend your service books from the www.cingular.com/blackberrystart webpage. But I would do that after you get the right pricing on your BIS Personal Plan!!!

What's the difference between the 39.99 plan and the 29.99 plan? Just the BES access?

I just called back and she said the cheapest blackberry plan is $39.99, and the $29.99 one is smartphone access, not for blackberries.

My voice plan is 60$ a month, so I don't think that part is an issue. Is there something I'm missing, or am I just getting bad Cingular reps?

EDIT:

I found a $29.99 Blackberry plan, but it mentions email and nothing about unlimited internet access. Is this the plan you are using?

That $29.99 plan is what I have. It is for email and unlimited internet access. Be advised that it does NOT included an SMS message allotment. You'll have to add an SMS package or pay for each message you send or receive.

But to answer your question: Yes, you were getting misinformed reps. They were quoting you plans that include BES. As long as you don't need BES syncing, you are fine with the $29.99 plan.

i just added the 39.99 blackberry personal max plan (unlimited internet) with 1500 text messages. if you need help the online cingular techs are really helpful and theyll get you up and running in a few minutes. the only bad thing is that you have to wait a few minutes until a rep is available.

Thank you for the responses! I'm going to call Cingular again in a second. If that fails then I'm resorting to the online help center.

I'm also going to try to set up my tethered modem, wish me luck!

Thanks again.

Tim.
