Default Getting rid of ABC on top right on screen

Please Login to Remove!
I got my Pearl about a week ago and love it. Just trying to figure it out. Anyways I have a dumb question. How do I get rid of the ABC on top right on my screen? It wasn't there before and it is covering up my signal strength bar.

This happened to me yesterday.
Click messages and click 'Compose SMS Text'
Click on a random person in your address book.
Press the menu button and then scroll down to 'Enable Suretype' then go back into the menu and scroll down and click 'Enable Multitap'
Exit out of the message and it should be gone.
