Hi Guys,

I just purchased a BB 8100R unlocked from someone. It's lightly used and everything is fine until I updated the phone.
The previous guy installed 4.2.0... and includes Chinese in it. So I did some research here and downloaded the most recent update from Rogers. I deleted the vendor.xml and tried update it. Everything is fine and when it finishes, it starts to restart itself for at least ten times. Then it will stay there for a while and randomly restart it self throughout the day. I went back home and tried to Wipe the whole thing and reinstall the 4.2.0... update, did not work, same error. Tried install Rogers update...still doesn't work.
Right now it is still restarting itself indefinitely, and I am very regret that I even tried to update it.

Anyone got any thoughts?

When u jack the BB into your pc is the usb connetion solid ? That is, is the connection stable ? When i connect mine i get the connect/disconnect sound from windows maybe 3 or 4 times before it finally connects.
i am not sure if this might help, but if you cycled thru app loader and then the device restarts after the load, try disconnecting the usb cable when the led turns red on the device (restart). But stick around to get more ppls opinions as i never tried this myself and i'm not quite sure if it will work or fry ur device.

I believe the connection is quite solid, unless the USB cable is broken?

Well..some updates

When I plug the usb cable in to the phone, it stops restarting and seems quite stable. When I unplug it, it goes back to the crazy status again.

As I got you did not do backup before changing smth.

Have you tried to wipe by javaloader then again install the OS?

Could it be a battery issue?
