Default Question for T-Mobile Users of the BlackBerry Plan

Please Login to Remove!

Is there a contract that I am bound by if I decide to sign up for the BlackBerry Unlimited Plan? For example, if I use it for two months and then decide to cancel it, will I be charged a cancellation fee?

P.S. I'm only talking about canceling the BlackBerry Unlimited Plan. My phone service will remain unchanged.

Normally no, it is usually your voice plan that is in contract, but you should ask the carrier that for a specific answer.

It may also depend on your reseller. If you bought the Pearl under a large discount via an online retailer, you may be committed to a data plan as well.

I bought mine through letstalk.com and I believe I am committed to a data plan as well otherwise I lose part of the discount.

If you bought directly from tmob, probably not.

No commitment for the BB plan for me. Just the 2 year cellular service contract. They told me that explicitly that I can turn off my BB plan anytime. But for $20 for unlimited BB and Data, it's worth it for me.

When I signed up for the $59.99 plan, (1000 min, unlimited data and sms) they told me that I need to have this for a year, but then when I changed it to something else, they changed it. So I'm guessing no you can keep changing your plan anytime you want... btw, I kept the $59.99 BB plan.

cancellation fee is only charged when you terminate your wireless service, not when you terminate "features". The BB plan is an add-on feature. You can change your rate plan at any time even though you may sign a contract for a particular rate plan, TMo allows you to change your rate plan to one that works best for your needs...you can change every month if you wanted to.

I started out my blackberry pearl with a $39.99 phone plan. Walked into the Tmobile store and asked them to add a $19.99/month data plan.

I am tied to the $39.99 phone plan for a year. As for the data plan they said I can cancel and reapply for the data plan as often as I like. If I wanted to take a break after using it for 2 months than I can cancel. Than reapply for data plan 4 months later from that date and its ok. No fees. Just call customer support each time I need to cancel or apply.

This entire time I would still have my phone calling plan though. As if I cancel that than I will be charged cancellation fees.

If your case is similar to mines I hope this info helps.

I've canceled it for a month and put it back on, there is no fee whatsoever, however I'm T-mo so I can only speak for that. I'm sure it's the same for other companies but yeah just my input.
