Hey I'm new to this so bare with me. I have a BB pearl and i dropped it when i got out of my car and for some reason it dont wanna turn on. When i remove the battery and reinstall it the red light comes on in the top right corner but it still wont power up. Does this means i might need a new one?

If you can return it on warranty, that will be your best option.

Ouch, usually when you put the battery in, it'll flash red and then boot up... I think you mighta broke your berry =(... sounds odd though because most Pearls are made to withstand a few drops.

Heck.....my 2 yr old son always tosses mine right before he gets caught in a chase after he grabs it and runs. I guess my case does help some in breaking the fall.

Normally when the red led comes on it means the that the device has some kind of life to it. The best way I have found to resolve that issue is to reload the software on the device without the battery in. You will loose all of your data reloading it this way.

Remove the battery and connect it to the computer. (Don't worry about the Desktop Manager saying disconnected)
Started the application loader and click next until you get to the end and then click finish.
The process will wipe all software on the device and then try to reconnect. If you're quick enough when it gets to that point put the battery back in and it will finish the reload. If you don't get the battery back in don't worry you haven't messed up the device. You'll get a message that it was not able to connect to the device. Put the battery back in and started the application loader again.

If this process fails you will need to get a replacement device.
