I heard that the "refurbed" things that they sell arnt as bad as people think people i know work for cingular/AT&T and they were telling me that if someone buys a earpeice and the returnes it to the store because they dont like the fit or whatever and want to try a new one then they sell that ear peice as a "refurb" but in all reality it like new just used for a week or whatever, as for the phones i havent heard anything bad and i think they give you a warrenty too so i dont see anything going wrong
They aren't bad, they might have some physical damage such as scratches and dents but usually refurb products come with a limited warranty and guarantee that they have fixed the problems.

I have a refurbished iPod and it's just like new. Usually there's a problem with a specific part and they replace it. So it's like buying a used phone with 1 new part. Other than some cosmetic issues it should work like new.
I bought and already received my refurb Pearl. It looks brand new, not even a scratch on it. I originally wanted the Sony Ericson w810, but it's nearly $200 and this was only $60. I'd wanted to get it anyway, so the price helped me decide more easily :D
If you need a new phone, this is a really great buy!
Refurb should mean that it has been tested by a tech and they do come with some type of warrany so it shouldn't be taking a chance. I haven't bought one from Cingular but have purchased other refurb products and have found them to be a real good deal.
Thanks for the link. I've just checked it out. They are still required 2 years service plan for the ~$59 Pearl.
I think you can check in a store because they should be able to hook up a deal and if you already have an account let you go for a 1 year setup, the net store is more like a mass market and they dont hook up deals....as far a contracts go!
Well...I spoke too soon. My refurb phone WAS scratch free. Just an hour after I made that last post I went to town and had my Pearl in my lap. I got out of the car and it fell onto the pavement and got a scratch on top. Ironically, I was going to buy a cover so it wouldn't get scratched up. Hah...can't help but laugh about it now ;)

Cingular said that they come with the full warranty.
