Hello everyone,

I just got my refub Pearl from Cingular two days ago. From my old phone, I saved all contacts onto the Sim card, then put it into my Pearl and copied to the phone. All was well, everyone was there, and I spent a few minutes putting the right info into the right spots. So yesterday morning I wake up and notice everyone is gone from the Address book. I figured it was something dumb I may have done, so I copied everyone from my Sim card again. Well...it still doesn't show up. No one.

So then I tried creating a new contact, I gave a random name and phone number. I hit enter, and it doesn't show up (If I sync with Outlook the contact DOES show up though). I've noticed you can filter contacts by Personal and Business, but neither seems to fix this.

Now, here is something else that has me confused. If I type in a phone number from a contact in my phone and dial, all their information will appear on the call screen. It's like everyone is there, but hidden...or something. As I said above, I can sync my phone with Outlook and all the numbers show up as if they are there.

I've never had a Blackberry before, but I love it, I don't even have a data plan yet. I hope there is an easy way to fix this, if anyone has an idea, please help.

Review all your options in the Phone Application - it may be your Phone List View settings on the new device.

I've went through all kinds of options trying to figure this out...I'm thinking it might be some view setting myself. But where is the Phone Application? I think I've already been to it, if it's the one I'm thinking of.

Hit the green send key and you are in the app. Then hit the menu key and O for options.

Uncheck all categories in the filter.

I have a similiar issue. My Outlook shows all the info I have on a contact, but my address book on the Pearl only shows email addresses. I have looked at filters and nothing seems to change this.

On you BB, when you go to Address Book>Options, how many contacts does it say you have?

Shows 53

That did it! I knew it was something simple in the settings!

Thank you so much, I went to Cingular today and the manager, but he obviously had no clue and told me I might need to get a new one...hah. Thank you again.

It usually is something simple. Make sure you don't accidentally set it to phone only mode. That had me chasing my tail for almost a week whe I had my first Blackberry.
